It's been a while but it's hot and we're back!

We've had some pretty major changes at sip towers but the sun is out and we are back to the blog...!

The weather this weekend is set to be a stunner so grabbing an ice cold sip is a must... but what to wear? well look no further than www.weathergirl.me

The Weather Girl is an enigmatic fashion and lifestyle writer, whose articles have appeared in British Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and the Financial Times. After graduating from Central Saint Martins she fled London in search of sunnier climes, settling in Milan where average summer temperatures of 29C did not stop her reporting on the Italian luxury business for U.S fashion bible – Women’s Wear Daily.
Now firmly back in London – with its erratic winters and let’s face it, downright awful summers – her passion (some would say slight obsession) for following the daily weather forecast began in the name of fashion – in knowing what to wear come rain or shine.

What a fabulous idea - and no longer do we have an excuse for not knowing what to wear.

The Weather Girl is definitely our sip chick of the summer!

Alexa Chung for Madewell AW/2010

Alexa Chung has been very busy we just can't keep up, what with moving to the States with yummy boyfriend Alex Turner and presenting her own TV show. She has now answered our fashion prayers and designed her very own collection that’s not going to break the bank, phew I hear you all say! I’m sure Alexa has been fighting off an army of fashion labels desperate to get her on their side, however relaxed and easy going Madewell have bagged the beautiful lady.

When celebrities venture over to the fashion designing side they tend to reproduce replicas of their wardrobes (think Kate Moss for Topshop). Alexa Chungs collaboration definitely has the ‘Alexa’ feel…… not that we’re complaining, here at Sip towers we heart her style.

Chung presented her AW/2010 collection at the Bowery Hotel, New York to a close knit audience. Pixie Geldof showed her support modeling the collection and friend Daisy Lowe was also spotted at the event. The Enid Blyton, British boarding school inspired collection will be available in Madewell stores and online at madewell1937.com in late August 2010. Such a long wait, how are we going to contain ourselves!

Check out the below pics and get your shopping list and pennies ready and waiting!

Sip Spring Labels: you be the judge

So here are the two shortlisted labels we have put together for sip Spring water. Imagine the labels are clear,  not white. As I mentioned in the last post we're just trying to convey our core strengths and beliefs.

  • Keep it British; why ship water from overseas when we've got some of the best water in the world right here in the UK.
  • Pure; just delicious spring water straight from the hills of Pembrokeshire
  • Fun; well I think the label is fun and have always believed that our attitude towards drinking water and staying healthy should be approached in an informed but lighthearted way. We are only human after all.

I look forward to hearing from you either here on the blog or email me directly at kate.cazenove@sipdrink.com

New year, new flavour!

I'm new to this so bear with me but Genna has persuaded me that I should embrace blogging for 2010 so here goes as I sit here with a mug of hot Lemongrass & Ginger Sip - it really works!

It can be quite hard to get really enthusiastic about chilled drinks in this weather but we're currently working on lots of new ideas for sip in 2010 including some delicious new flavours. We're saying goodbye to Ruby Orange and want to replace it with one of 2 flavours that Genna and I have fallen in love with. Cherry or Blackcurrant are on the shortlist and I'd love to hear from any of you as to which one would be your favourite so do, please let us know. My daughters are crazy about the cherry but I think that we should broaden the tester base a little more...As you can see from the picture, Elderflower has been Tabitha's firm favourite for awhile so feeling confident we've picked some winners!

We're also planning to launch a sip Spring water soon. sip Original was launched for those that know that they should regularly drink water but just find it a bit boring and wanted something a little different. Well, I'm passionate about water and am thrilled to announce that we've found an amazing British water which comes from the most beautiful part of Wales. sip water will come from a family run organic farm in Pembrokeshire, which takes 15 years to filter through before we get to drink it. It's light, sweet and completely delicious. We've been working on the designs, trying to produce a label that will reflect what sip is all about; British, pure and fun! We have got down to two favourites and again, we'd love to hear from you as to which one would make you pick it up off the shelf! Alternatively, if you think they're awful - tell me! Will put them on the next post later today once I've worked out how to do it!

I can't tell you how much we appreciate getting feedback from you all - good or bad. Any ideas about anything, get in touch - it's important to us. Hope to hear from you and here's to a great 2010! Kate!

get covered up in style this season

The best thing about the weather turning colder is the excuse to head off to the shops (or pop online to stay warmer!) and fill your real/online basket with lovely knitwear and coats.

From high street to designer, knitwear is definitely having a moment - the 'It knit' is here and these little beauties have been spending a little more time lately with sequins & scissors and getting inspired by all sorts of great shapes and fabrics.

Winter colours like greys and blacks are still staying strong but there are plenty of additions to the good ol' jumper and cardigans to keep you shopping for hours... take a look at some of our faves
